One of the best preserved 14th century castles in Scotland, Doune Castle is also one of the few to have a cult following. Pilgrims flock here on quest to see film location of the classic, "Monty Python and the Holy Grail".
Perched upon a cliff top protecting the medieval road to the Highlands, Stirling Castle has witnessed some of the most important events in Scotland's history. Second only to Edinburgh Castle in popularity, there is so much to see here that a visit warrants a good half a day.
