"This scene shows the violent death of a human torn
to pieces by vicious animals. It is thought to be the
Biblical story of Daniel, whose faith protected him
when the Babylonians threw him into the lion's den.

Later in the Middle Ages a local tradition began
that this marked the grave of Queen Guinevere,
known locally as Vanora. She was the wife of
King Arthur, who put her to death after she was
abducted and raped by his nephew. Mordred. This
was considered shameful, and to save his honour
Arthur had Guinevere killed."
