It is an interesting photograph, good light and shade etc. I am interested in it because I believe that my great great grandfather was demobbed in Fort William after the battle of Waterloo. He then turned to smuggling whisky from the area through the small Cumbrian port of Ravenglass. he used to run with it on his back over Hardknott and Wrynose passes to the shores of Windermere. Is there anything, I wonder, in the museum in Fort William about which regiments were based there?
