This is an interesting place that was discovered in 1835. It is a series of underground caves decorated in a shell mosaic. No one knows why or who create it. Some say it is a 2000 year old temple.

Not bad! How're you doing Garry? Enjoying life in the UK I guess. We have been enjoying a holiday with your mum and have been doing some sightseeing, but nothing like the shell grotto - I reckon it was probably an obsessed, demented fisherman who was looking for something "arty" to while away his time. been to margate many times as my parents live there but never visited the shell grotto..will do now after seen your pics..nice 1
